DIY Kitchen Cabinet Hardware

Simple and Inexpensive Upgrade for a Kitchen or Bathroom.

Cabinet hardware is usually an extra expense these days when buying a new home. A lot of builders don’t even offer this as an option. Adding handles and knobs to kitchen or bathroom cabinets is a nice upgrade. There are a wide range of styles and colors to choose from to personalize your cabinets.

This is a simple and inexpensive upgrade that we did last week for one of our recurring customers. Most any home owner can do this project themselves and that is the reason I am giving this project a DIY label. Even though our customer is handy and likes to do projects, and could have done this herself, she is a busy professional and chose to have us do it for her.

Tools You Will Need To Install Cabinet Hardware

The tools to do this your self are pretty basic. You may already have these available in your tool box. If you don’t, they are a great addition to your tool collection and are good to have on hand for other projects as well.

You will need a tape measure, pencil, small drill and a hand held screwdriver. We use a hardware template as well and although not necessary to complete this project it makes it a lot easier. The template is inexpensive and can be purchase at any of the large hardware stores.

This template package has easy to follow instructions and can be purchase at your local hardware store.
